Storytime

At Deer Park West we are committed to helping parents understand how children learn and to building relationships with our local community. Knowledge and strong relationships empower students, parents and staff as lifelong learners and enables them to collaboratively support students.  One way we do this is through our early intervention program called Storytime.

Storytime introduces children to the world of books, encourages a love of reading and stimulates imagination through a variety of different hands on experiences.

Storytime is a literacy based social program to help prepare preschool children for learning, developing listening, speaking, reading, fine motor and social skills.

We meet weekly on Monday mornings after assembly at the school library. During this time, children, along with their parents, have the opportunity to play games, read books, sing songs and chants, and participate in activities based on the books that are read.

If you have a preschool aged child who either has a sibling at Deer Park West PS or you plan to enrol your child at Deer Park West Primary School in 2022, come along and join in.

Please contact the office for more information.
